CJ E&M’s Korean movie channel, tvN Movies, is launching on the Viu platform in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Starting this week, tvN will bring a slew of 2017 Korean blockbusters to Viu, including Confidential Assignment (Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae-jin), The Prison (Han Suk-kyu, Kim Rae-won) and Fabricated City (Ji Chang-wook, Shim Eun-kyung).
tvN has first-run and exclusive pay-TV and OTT rights in Southeast Asia to the 2017 releases, as well as the top-grossing Korean films in 2016: Train To Busan, A Violent Prosecutor, The Age Of Shadows, Inside Men and Operation Chromite. More titles will be available in early 2018, including Midnight Runners (pictured) starring Kang Ha-neul and Park Seo-joon.
To kick off its launch in Southeast Asia on Viu, tvN Movies is bringing Kang and Midnight Runners director Jason Kim to meet fans in Singapore on August 31. Kang is known to Singapore audiences for his roles in Korean hits Like For Likes and New Trial.
Midnight Runners will be released theatrically in Singapore by Purple Plan and Golden Village Pictures on September 7.
