Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA) has announced its first major funding round for Thai productions, handing out $6.4m (THB220m) to 86 projects.
A total of 15 narrative feature projects are receiving production funding, including 9 Temples To Heaven, directed by Sompot Chidgasornpongse and produced by Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Kick The Machine; Phuttiphong Aroonpheng’s The Burning Giants and Aditya Assarat’s The Thonglor Kids.
Post-production funds have been awarded to five narrative works-in-progress: A Useful Ghost (pictured above), directed by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke; Shadowless, from Thanadech Pradith and Patchara Eaimtrakul; Love Or Lie, directed by Jit Khamnoedrat; Kongkiat Komesiri’s Replace Me; and Omukade, from Chalot Krailerdmongkol and Pakphum Wongjinda.
THACCA also handed out funding to documentaries, animation and series at different stages of development and production (see full list of funding recipients below).
