Baidu-owned streaming platform iQiyi has acquired exclusive Chinese streaming rights to six titles nominated for this year’s Golden Globes, including Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Shape of Water.
The acquisitions also include Molly’s Game, The Greatest Showman, Battle Of The Sexes and animated feature Ferdinand.
“Through the precise prediction of AI and big data, and coordination between our experienced procuring teams, iQiyi will continue to capture quality movie resources, delivering a more international angle and more superior content,” said the company in a statement.
iQiyi has been positioning itself as a platform for critically-acclaimed English-language content, also acquiring Oscar-winning titles Moonlight and La La Land earlier this year. The company also has licensing deals with Netflix, Fox, Warner Bros and Lionsgate.
