Pan-Asian streaming service iflix has signed a multi-year collaboration with Indonesian production house Screenplay Films.

The two companies have already worked together on eight-part romantic teen drama Magic Hour, a sequel to Screenplay’s box office hit of the same name, which was Indonesia’s fifth-highest grossing film in 2015.

Under their new collaboration, Screenplay will produce ‘multiple original productions’ exclusively for iflix.

Screenplay has also produced films such as London Love Story (2016), I Love You From 38,000 feet (2016), Headshot (2016) and Jailangkung (2017).

In a statement, iflix co-founder and group CEO, Mark Britt, described Indonesia as Asia’s fastest-growing television market and said: “At iflix, we’re passionate about our local customers and committed to providing them with an exceptional world class service and experience. This strengthening of our collaboration with Screenplay Films is proof of that commitment.”

Screenplay Films COO and founder, Wicky V. Olindo, said: “We are thrilled about our multi-year partnership with iflix and the opportunity to share our artistic vision and talents with regional and international audiences unlike ever before. We are eager to support iflix’s ambitious content strategy with compelling storytelling and high-value productions.”
