Golden Horse Film Project Promotion has selected 38 film projects and 13 film works-in-progress (WIP) for this year’s edition of the Taipei-based financing and co-production event.
Among the 38 film projects are several from former Golden Horse Award winners, including Wake Me Up When The Mourning Ends, from Lau Kok-rui (The Sunny Side Of The Street); Water Of Immortality from Lin Chun-yang (Eye Of The Storm), and The Room Raising Children’s Soul by A Leg director Chang Yao-sheng.
The line-up also includes comedies such as Grannies’ Revenge by Heavy Craving director Hsieh Pei-ju; projects that tackle social issues through crime, thriller and horror, such as Far End Of Heaven, directed by Tsao Jui-yuan and executive produced by Sylvia Chang; and stories inspired by historical events, including He Sang A Dirge, from Malaysian director Loh Din-yung, about the fake degree scandal that shook Malaysia. Documentary projects include news works from Elvis Lu (A Holy Family) and Li Wei (Silence In The Dust), among other filmmakers.
Works-in-Progress include narrative features such as Wang Yi-ling’s Running Wild, executive produced by award-winning editor Liao Ching-sung, and Blind Love, directed by Chou Mei-yu and starring Ariel Lin, who is also an executive producer; along with documentaries such as Mok Kawn-ling’s A Thousand Winds, which documents social movements in Hong Kong.
Golden Horse FPP is taking place in Taipei November 18-20.
