Fox Networks Group Asia (FNGA) is launching its streaming service FOX+ in Taiwan, initially through a collaboration with local telco Chunghwa Telecom.
The OTT service will feature three types of content – entertainment, documentaries and live sport, including baseball, with more than 10,000 hours of programming.
Film content includes Fox movies such as X-Men: Apocalypse, Trolls and Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. TV shows include The Walking Dead Season 8, which will be available on the same day as the global launch in the US in October.
Chinese and Asian content includes Korean dramas such as Goblin, The King In Love and Master’s Sun; Japanese dramas including Lady Girls; Chinese variety shows including Running Man China and Keep Running; and in-house variety shows such as Car-aoke Talent, Lady Commander Plus and Travel Cheering Squad.
The service will also carry Chinese movies such as Love Off The Cuff (pictured), See You Tomorrow, S Storm and Line Walker.
Zubin Gandevia, president of FOX Networks Group Asia, said: “We have always been committed to bringing world-class entertainment to our viewers in Taiwan. The launch of FOX+ enables us to take that promise to the next level, bringing even more movies, series, sports and documentaries to viewers.”
Chunghwa Telecom’s high data rate plans, above $47 per month, include a 12-month subscription to FOX+. The streaming service was also rolled out in the Philippines in March 2017 and Singapore in May.
