Focus Asia, the industry platform of Udine’s Far East Film Festival (FEFF), has selected 11 projects from ten territories for its All Genres Project Market and seven for its Far East In Progress section. The event is taking place during FEFF in Udine from April 28-30, 2025.
All Genres Project Market focuses on projects with Asian and European co-production potential, while Far East in Progress is dedicated to Asian films in post-production seeking international distribution and festival premieres. Projects selected for Far East in Progress have been incubated and developed through Focus Asia’s All Genres Project Market or the Ties That Bind workshop, which takes place at FEFF each year.

For the third year running, Focus Asia and Ties That Bind are partnering with Cannes film festival’s Marché du Film to shape a joint programme in two stages: the first at the end of April within Focus Asia and the second in Cannes as part of the Spotlight Asia initiative.
Italy’s Ministry of Culture and Cinecittà will inaugurate the 2025 edition of Focus Asia with a reception set up on the opening night of the event and a special showcase of Italian producers. Europa Distribution, the main European network of independent distributors, is also returning to Udine, together with over 15 European distributors who will be taking part in the third edition of the Distribution Lab.
At the same time, Europa International, the network of European sales agents, will join Focus Asia for the first time to participate in the first edition of the Sales Lab. In addition Ties That Bind will present two recent co-production case studies between Europe and Asia, and offer insights on success stories of Asian remakes and IP management.
