Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), the industry platform of Korea’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), has launched a new initiative to support international co-production film projects with Korea.

ACFM currently provides support for Asian films and documentaries at various stages of production through the Asian Cinema Fund (see here for details of ACF’s latest funding round).

This year, ACFM and ACF are expanding this support with the launch of the Co-Production Support Fund, which will offer direct financial assistance to one selected project in the final pre-production phase, addressing financial challenges in the Korean and Asian cinema production environment.

Eligible projects should be feature-length films or animations intended for theatrical release, produced under a co-production agreement between Korea and other Asian countries, and have secured a minimum of 60% of their total production budget. The selected project will receive $50,000 (KRW65m), subject to certain conditions, and is obligated to have its premiere at BIFF 2026.

The ACF Co-Production Support Fund is sponsored by Hylife Group, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which is involved in businesses including real estate, asset management and food manufacturing. The company is now planning to enter the entertainment industry and is planning to launch an international culture festival that will showcase film, music and food, including Korean cinema.

“With Hylife’s generous contribution, ACFM will play a pivotal role in enhancing collaboration across Asia and helping cooperative production projects reach global audiences,” said ACFM director Ellen Y. D. Kim.

Registration for the 2025 ACF Co-Production Support Fund is open July 1-August 14 and can be accessed through the ACFM website.
